Five things I hope you do not know about me!

Our dear blogger and lovely Kinzi has tagged me with an awkward task to reveal five things that you (readers) do not know about me. Well, to begin with I asked myself why should anyone be interested in the hidden stories or features of other people. Is it curiosity, fun or trying to get to know people more? For the tranquility of my psyche I want to choose the second option to make this entry as... [read more]

Less Politics, more culture, economy and Fun in Jordan Watch

As explained in my latest post  I am trying to reduce the schizophrenic condition I have in my career vs blogging time by more integration of the two identities. In my assessment of my blogging year and in relation to my professional career and issues of interest I decided to reduce controversial politics from my Jordan watch blog for many reasons that I will explain now. As I said in my previous... [read more]

My Blogging Schizophrenia

Throught last year I was faced with a continuous internal struggle for identity and interests, and that was very evident in one platform, my blogging outlets. I have an academic degree in environmental science holding an MsC from the University of Jordan since 1996. I am passionate about environmental issues and I guess I have crafted myself a good career and impact. I have workd with projects with... [read more]

Review of a year in blogging

Well, it has been a fantastic first year in blogging for me. Did I reach "blogging maturity" yet? I do not know but what I can say is that I have enjoyed the first year experience of blogging but I am now trying to assess this phase seriously and I will be posting a series of personalized posts about blogging today to reflect on the past year. I still recall the days when I developed my desire to... [read more]

Freezing Jordan Planet: they owe us an explanation!

I was terribly shocked to read a statement that Jordan Planet is being "put to sleep" for a period ranging from no less than 3 months to 6 months, due to the "unpleasant" quality of the posts, as describing by the writer. I always put myelf in place of the person on the other side. I know that the guys behind Jordan Planet have done  marvellous efforts in upgrading blogging  in Jordan by providing... [read more]

Interesting New Jordanian Blogs

It seems that our Jordanian bloggers community is expanding both in quality and quantuty. I know that blogs are emerging on daily basis and it is difficult to keep track of them, but I wanted to mention some quality blogs that I like which are not listed on Jordan Planet yet. Of course this is "my list" based on links that I managed to track so if any Jordanian blogger does not find his/her blog in... [read more]

Handbook for Bloggers by "Reporters Without Borders"

The famous press freedom organization "reporters without borders" has issued a very important handbook for bloggers and cyber-dissidents. The organization believes that Bloggers are often the only real journalists in countries where the mainstream media is censored or under pressure. Only they provide independent news, at the risk of displeasing the government and sometimes courting arrest. For that... [read more]

Dear Readers of my blog;   Within the next 24 hours this blog will under go a major change process after careful examination of the blog record and objectives in the last 6 months. Excited with my new Nationality!

I am not an easy person to get excited. I usually act like happy children if I watch my favourite soccer teams win, and maybe a few occasions of outdoor travels and spirited gatherings but I was really thrilled to see my latest posts appear in the Jordan Plant homepage. Yes I am excited and happy like a 5 years old child with my new nationality as a citizen of Jordan Planet, something that I will always... [read more]

Why Should I Blog?

Ever since I came across the blogging phenomenon three week ago I was so impressed and overlwhelmed by the characters of such an expression system. I have been thinking deeply whether I should start my own blog or not. I needed to convince my self with the added value of blogging, and whether I am doing this out of fun, or to be a part of a new community or just to follow a hype. The main reason... [read more]
