Omar Majali...Symbol of Jordanian Patriotism

Last week, Omar Hashem Majali (10 years) called the Watan FM radio to declare that he wants to donate 50 JDs of his own pocket money for the national campaign for Cornea donation in Jordan. He then asked Mohammad Al Wakeel who was guiding the campaign whether he can donate more. Al Wakeel told the little boy that he has done more than enough and he aknowledges his generosity and patriotism.
Five days later, a horrific car accident in Karak claimed the life of Omar. He was the only boy for his father, and the grieved father took the decision that Omar wanted and donated his Corneas to the National Eyes Bank.
This is such a moving tragedy, however it provides to all of us the true meaning of patriotism. The little boy wanted to donate money and ended up donating his eyes for others to see, the ultimate of giving.
I did not call the programme and donated nothing. Did anyone of you call? did any minister call? did any businessman call? did Zaki Bani Irshaid call instead of lashing at Jordan from each and every media outlet? did any deputee call? did any writer preaching about patriotism call?
We all stand small and ashamed in front of the giant patriotism and altruism showen by a 10 years old true Karaki boy. May God keep him in his mercey and give his soul what he deserves of love and care.

You have ruined a perfectly good post with your anti-opposition antics.

Batir, for the 100th time (not that it matters to you what we say) when people criticize the regime, they are not criticizing Jordan.

WE HAVE NO CHOICE IN THE REGIME, IT IS NOT THE PRODUCT OF THE CHOICE OF A JORDANIAN MAJORITY.

JORDAN = LAND + PEOPLE.

Anything imposed on us, through the muzzle of a gun, stands on its own outside the realm of Jordan and Jordanian patriotism. To be a patriotic Jordanian is to love fellow Jordanians and Jordan the land.

So quit shoving your opportunistic definition of Jordan and patriotism down our throat.

Dear Fathi plz return to ZBR's interview with Jordan Business magazine where he said that the rural population of Jordan should not have a lot of representation in the parliament because they are not intellectuals and politically aware.
ZBR and his gang have never contributed any donations to the community in Jordan unless linked with political and religious mobilization.
Jordan= Land and Peopel and ZBR has insulted both.
Quit shoving your miserable defence of IAF down our throats

ZBR never said that. jordan business magazine is as truthful as you and Al-Ghad. ZBR was asking for more representation for urban jordanians who are deliberately marginalized because of their political sphistication and because of their education, in the impotent jordanian parliament. That's all he said and all what he implied. He is the most courageous Jordanian politician who dared to speak on behalf of the silenced majority. That's why you hate him and thats' why despite the rejection of many Jordanians of political islam, they respect him and respect the courageous party that defends justice for all Jordanians.

Fallah and fathi:
ZBR said that, he said that people living in rural areas are neither educated nor politically aware. For him their blind loyalty to the leadership is ignornance but for me and for all of them it is our strenght and our political stand. ZBR wants to devide jordan, he could have said that we need more seats for amman and zarqa, but instead he said that we need less seats for the origin of jordan.

Anyway here is the link for what he said:

They are going down, I can see it:)

I have to stop the discussion on ZBR and IAF since the real issue here is the admiration and respect for this great Jordanian boy. The IAF and ZBR are irrelevant to this case.

Zaki stated facts. Amazing how the trut upsets some people. he said that 70% of Jordanians are being marginalized for in favor of another group part of a grand plan to keep Jordanians fighting one another, and to nurture feelings of resentments among Jordanians. the 1993 election law is a crime against Jordanian unity. Better to shutdown parliament than to keep it as a dividing issue between Jordanians. We know the dirty game being played. We understand what the desired outcome is, but I am glad most Jordanians, especially the silenced majority, are smart enough to understand the desired outcome of this dirty game: dividing the good people of Jordan. if the desired outcome is to give voice to the less fortunrte, we use quotas or we use a system like the american system where one body, the senate, gives each state equal weight, and another, the House, gives one representative to roughly each half a million voters, with some exceptions. But the Jordanian parliament is designed to split Jordanians and to thwart true national unity.

START

there remains unequal and unbalanced distribution of votes amongst the municipalities. Amman, Zarqa and Irbid represent 70% of Jordan’s population, but receive only 30% of political representation in the Lower House of Parliament. The government claims this is done to support the regions that are “less fortunate,” though those who live in these marginalized regions are, with all due respect, people that are less knowledgeable and less educated, culturally and politically, thus they should not be the majority in the parliament. This is a cautious topic; we can understand that the less fortunate regions are witnessing an economic revival with many projects slated, but to have them play the majority in political life, this is a backwards equation that is unlike anything around in the world today. So for us, it’s not just about the Electoral Law but the distribution of seats amongst the municipalities.

"the origin of jordan. "

what's that? is this a unique race? or a different sect? or a unique ideology? or is this a purely political categorization with the sole purpose of playing divide and conquer?

You can call them "Native Jordanians", maybe we can put them in a meusuem if you and ZBR see that they are not "advanced" enough to your standards!

He could have said that we want to increase the seats for amman and zarqa, not reduce the seats of bedwins which only have I think 9 seats. And by the way many of those "nattive jordanians" live in his amman and zarqa..

Anyway god bless the sould of Omar majali, his contribution is 10000000 bigger than the IAF and ZBR.
