Abbadi Arrested: Don't turn him into a victim!

As expected, the state of Jordan has been fed up with the continuous flow of defaming letters and articles by Dr Ahmad Owedie Abbadi and the so-called "Jordanian National Movement" which is a right-wing racist political stream with a well functioning website in the USA and an unknown number of followers in Jordan.
Abbadi was arrested after Minister of Interior Eid Al-Fayez issued a complaint against Abbadi for personal attackes lashed at the Minister in one of Abbadi's notorious articles.
Abbadi has been charged with "slander, undermining the country’s reputation, and violating laws governing e-mail practices". It is very strange for me that the main problem with Abbadi's messages was not used as a charge which is "undermining national unity and provoking hatred", which is the same one used for many politicians before, the latest being Adnan Abu Odeh.
My only concern in this case is that Abbadi should never be considered as a victim or a hero. He is a person who supports racism and degrading the unity of the country. He is defaming important figures with bad language and undermining the very foundations of the Jordanian state. I hope he will be subject to a fair trial that will find him as guilty as he actually is.
Maybe the main objective for his arrest is to make him not eligibel for the next Parliamentarian elections. I do not know if he has so much support that can bring him a Parliamentarian seat again and immunity for 4 years but the process of campaigning his ideas and showing his strength will be threatening by itself regardless of the result.
For any one interesetd in Abbadi's so-called "ideas" you can always refer to the National Jordanian Movement website operating from the USA, however, I would like to express my own assessment of his message
1- The mission statement of the JNM is really interesting. It directly links exodus with the emerging of the National Jordanian Movement. Why should any Jordanian political movement find a link with the ancient jewish history of the region?
2- The movement has developed a package of well-written texts that indicates the presence of some good working brains behind them. At some stages, when describing corruption and calling for reform you may get impressed but you should always look at the "guest book" of the website.
3- The guest book contains a so-called free platform for dialogue but it is a forum for hatred against palestinians in particular, but not only them. Back in January I have tried to discuss the content and signed in with my real name  and then was asked to go back to Russia and leave this country to its people. Another message of racism and hatred.
4- The JNM does not hide its attack on the Hashemite regime, Palestinians and Isalamists while showing a lot of respect and interest to the USA and Israel. It tried to exert pressure on the King before and during his last visit to the USA and criticised his "unbalanced" speech in the Congress in support of the Palestinians.
5- The JNM does not make it clear if they want another regime to rule Jordan. Surely they do not support the Islamists and of course against the Palestinians so most likely they call for a transjordanian regime based on tribal loyalties more than modernism and civil values.
6- In my own assessment, the state of Jordan has been built around the Hashemite regime, and there is no other governance system that can be able to unite the 5.2 million Jordanians in the 90,000 square Kms in our country. This is why the JNM is highly dangerous in its atempts to destabilize the regime, even if their actual impact is minimal.

Abbadi is an eccentric right wing fundamental, but still he is a Jordanian citizen of political status and it is crucial that he does not turn into a victim of a hero. His hatred message does not provide him with any support from human rights organizations or any politicians now, but there might be a few misguded individuals who believe in his ideas and it is important to show how flawed those ideas are instead on focusing on the person himslef.
We are already having a difficult time facing corruption, poverty, neoliberal policies, Islamic fundamentalism and lack of professional ethics and we do not want to be challenged with an emerging right wing racism in our society.

GOOD LORD!!! i visited the guy's website and he is a total lunatic. he accuses the Queen and Awadallah and Qasrawi of being Hamas and Fatah supporters. WHAT A NUT CASE!

I say let the moron free. If any, he will improve the regime's image of tolerance :) but his website is the ultimate proof the guy is unbalanced. I am no fan of the regime, but I have to be a total idiot to be influenced by Abbadi. if any, Abbadi can be used as a bogyman to show people the alternative to "pragmatism." ;)

" [the kings] personal political stances pertinent to regional and international issues are significantly influenced by his top foreign policy advisors: His wife Queen Rania, Basim Awadallah and Farouq Qassrawi, all of whom are west bankers and anti-Israel and fervent supporters of Fateh and Hammas organizations. I strongly believe that he shouldn't be in jail, let the guy say what he want, if you're to put him in jail, you should also put 3/4 of the population in jail for having racist ideas.

besides, the charges themselves are something to ponder upon, the guy is a god of racism against the Palestinian population in Jordan, damn, he even attacked Rania for the soul reason of being Palestinian inside the parliament! I know for sure that he hates Abdullah because he's married to a Palestinian, he had continuously attacked the Palestinians inside Jordan in his website and articles, a 3-year-old knows that he's openly racist and proud to be so, yet he's not charged for being racist!! he was charged for daring to criticize a Fayez?! And like you said, Abu Oudeh said the Palestinians inside Jordan don't enjoy the same rights as do East Jordanians and he was labeled as and charged for being racist?!
What is the definition of racism in the Jordanian regime's dictionary?

There,s two theories to arguin,g with a racist people like fawze 3abadi neither one works.

again, the government will let you talk about corruption only in general term, and if you start naming names and talk about specifics then its going to be harsh treatment and most likely you will end up in jails on trump up charges.
just ask toujan Faisal, when she started to talk about the corruption of Abu Ragheb's government, she ended up in jail.

When I see what happens to freedom of expression in Jordan I feel that I will cry. Freedom of expression is a constitutional right founded in 1952 it is older than any of the people we are putting in Jail. It was again after decades of Turkish and British hegemonic rule. I think Abbadi is crazy, sick and vulgar, yet he did not incite violence. But putting someone is Jail because of craziness reminds me of the times of كافور الاخشيدي! As for Osama Fawzi, I will quote a U.S. Supreme Court judge "one man's vulgarity is another man's lyrics".

This is just insane.

Well Batir you just touch the problem that caused them man to act insanely in a way that reveals his unmaturity....the constitution says the king is the head of the state and this family the hashimites was able through the previous years to treat all people in a relatively fair way and was able to creat a balanced situation so we have a critical situation in Jordan that makes qeen Rania attituid of not respecting the constitution neither and half of the Jordanian by sharing this authority with the king so we have to heads of the state ...as I see she did not do any thing special to the palastinian people in Jordan all what she did is creating hatred ...The Qeen of Jordan MUST be Jordanian , west banker east banker really desnt matter because Jordan need to have a national Identity . palestine has its people who is dedicated to its issues with the occupiers and we all feel the pain they are going through. But in Rania case tell me why a queen of Jordan once say she is a palastinian and once say she is a kwitian and in others she say she is a Jordanian ! Now whats really she is !!!! Come on she is the qeen of jordan and she is interfiering with every small and big issue in the country. Thats the hatred Abadi was talking about citizinship is not a piece of paper its a feeling toward the country and its people . Even the members of the royal family their situation changed after she grew more powerfull with here relations with the west ...what she did outside jordan can be done by any royal family member or any minister but he must do it for Jordan only . I think Jordan needs a Queen that is dedicated to Jordan and Jordanians only we dont need a showy Qeen !!! and we need a dedicated prime ministers who really cares about the detorerating economic situation and he disappearing middle layer from the society a prime minister that can resign and accuse the dirty people of betrayal if he was pushed by them to do anything wrong and even if he was from palastinian origin i

I read your artical months ago but I did not comment on it ,in which you object on the citizinship withdrawal from Palstinians who taken it due to the unity deciscion but they really dont care they went to take other citizinship and they spent most of their life their outside Jordan and Jordan to them is just a spare tire ...well Jordan is for the people who really love I was not happy about the way people look into the text of the law but they forget about the spirit of justic ...and stop your racism toward Jordanians...you are the man who is trying to change the regime here cause breaking the balance with hard demographic changes means Jordanians feels persecuted then they will change the regime not us man !!!
