Jordan Watch
An update and analysis of the progress, or lack of it in political, economic, social and cultural reform in Jordan.

I am so depressed: Feeling the worst is yet to come!

I must say I am having one of the most prolonged depression states of mind I ever had throughout this day. I did not go to the Jordan Planet meet-up so that I will not spread my depression to others, and my participation in the vigil for Lebanon did not help my cause and nor Lebanese people.
I am stuck in between the TV stations and internet, reading all the analysis and comments about the war. The brutality of Israel, the stupidity of the USA, the bravery of Hizbullah...all the description are there.
My interest is mainly focused on the heart-breaking stories of people. Men, women, chidlren and elderly whose lives have been shattered and destroyed. Around 1000 people are killed..all those had dreams, hopes and plans. The dead children were laughing and playing, the men have left their sons and wives behind, and the tragic losses are on a rise.
People in the Arab street are on high alert, singing for Nassrallah and Hizbullah and talking about the bravery of the fighters. I have joined in this march and wrote a lot but I think we are missing the main issue: The value of human lives in the Arab World is zero.
Our population, in Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon and all other countries can be thrown to war in one minute...one instance without being prepared or asked. Israel and the USA are  brutal killing machines that love nothing but to destroy. In the Arab World, the lives of millions of people including all their dreams and ways of life can be altered forever by one person who takes in his hand the decision to destroy a country and all its people.
I heared tonight Nassrallah's speech and I had the feeling that the worst is still to come. He said he will hit Tel Aviv with missiles. I know he will  and he has the courage. Maybe a number of 100 missiles will hit Tel Aviv to make arabs happy in front of TV, strategic analysts at full force on TV, and Israelis' running in panic. What will the price be: the destruction of Beirut! Our hate for Isarel is bigger than our love for our countries.
Iraq has been destroyed and sent back to stone age. Each day between 50-100 iraqis are dead most of them at the hands of fellow iraqis. Palestine is destroyed and people are in grave condition. Lebanon is being torn apart, and Israel is continuing its blood path and no solution is on the table.
I am so confused and depressed. I do not want to hear slogans of championship and analysis of who is winning. I just want ordinary people like all of us to live in peace and if they have to fight they must be at least prepared and consulted.
in a nutshell...there is no value of a human life in the Middle East. Governments oppress their citizens, Israel kills them and the Arab street is happy with the spirit of resistance. This is all crap. We should build our countries and give people a voice to express themselves in the decisions of peace and war.
Israel will not win...Hizbullah will not win. How many destruction and killing do we need to realize this?

Batir, I wonder if rather than spread depression your presence at the meet-up could have been for the purpose of allowing others to lift your spirits.

I greatly value Arab lives. I am so deeply sorry for my country's callousness.

Very well said Batir!

It is scary what is going on around us. People are getting insane. We need more people to voice sanity like you did.

Don't let your sadness put you in dispair. Keep you voice alive. It certainly touches many people...

I left "Queen Rania's fan" nickname and I use my own name now:)
I agree with you Batir, that's why your love for your countries and for the life MUST be SO MUCH bigger than the hate for Israel and USA: Hizballah doesn't want just to destroy Israel, but all Middle East!!! I'm really not complitely with USA or Israel, but this time I try to be more strongly with Israel because it's defending itself and its existance. I don't think it can destroy Hizballah or Hamas or the other terrorists (and I'm sure that they are!), but it's right that it tries, because they are very strong: it would be better also for Middle East that these organizations stop their terrorists actions and that Governaments like Syria and Iran, but also the same Lebanse Governament, stop to support it.

Alessandra I am really sorry that you still repeat the biggest three biggest misconceptions about this war and this area. I have to clear the facts again.1
1- Hizbullah, and Hamas are NOT terrorist organizations. They are much different that Al Qaeda which is a terrorist organization. Hizbullah and Hamas fight the Israeli occupation. Hizbulah has never targeted Israeli civilians unless the Israelis hit first. Intil now around 1000 lebanese civilians have been killed in comparison to 30 Israelis.
2- Hizbullah does not want to destroy Isarel it has never wanted to. They want to defend their country and not destroy Israel.
3- The biggest shamfulk lie of this whole issue is that "Israel is defending itself". Please Alessandra do not repeat this lie. Israel is destroying Lebanon and not defending itself. Today Israel bombed an important bridge that wa sused to bring aid to southern Lebanon and now the aid will not reach the target. They have bombed a fishermen's harbor and bombed electricity and power stations. Is taht considered "self defence". Is the crime in Qana in "self defence"? What Israel is doing is a programmed destruction of Lebanon, and you have all the freedom to be a part of this by identifying with the Israeli propaganda.

Batir, sorry 4 being late with the answer, but I was away. You are right: Hizballah and Hamas aren't like Al-Qaeda...In fact you can tell that the are still more dangerous than it, because people support it. About the massacre of Qana, about what I was so shocked too, I have some documents that dimostrate the disinformation about it. 4 example the victims were 28 and 16 children: not 57 people and 37 children. Also a Lebanese Governative hospital told it. It's terrible as well, but the number of the victims wasn't so high.
And then why did they try to help them just 8 hours later??
In that building there weren't just poor civilians, but also members of Hizballah that as usual hide themselves where there are civilian people!!!
By the way is unuseful going on with this topic.
Take care, Batir and people.
Bye. Alessandra from Italy.
