Batir Wardam Blog: The End of the "International Community"

Rome was the host of a historic event yesterday. Although the meeting of "international foreign ministers" accompanied by the UN Secretary General on Lebanon ended without any recommendation for "immediate ceasefire" and did not make any positive difference to the more than 500,000 Lebanese directly under the fire of the brutal Israeli attack, it has been the stage and time for the end of the International Community as we know it.

The "International community" concept was evolving in the last decades based on the ethical and moral values of multilateralism, coexistance, peace, respect for international order and UN rules. Now, there is one clear fact: the world is lead by the arrogance of power of the pro-zionist neoconservative US administration in support of the brutal state terrorism of Israel. The only two occupation forces in the world: The USA and Israel are leading the world to a disaster.

In the new Israel/USA new world order, a country like Germany has the same weight as a country like Burkina faso in Middle East and most other priority topics in the World.

The UN is losing credibility and impact with John Bolton on stage. Today the UN issued a statement stating "shock and distress" of the killing of four UN personnel in Lebanon by Israel, after issuing 10 pleas from the UN base to Israel. If Hizbullah did hit the UN place in mistake, Mr Bush would appear in 23 minutes, even if he had to come out from a bathroom to "condemn" and "express anger" and call for "bringing perpertrators to justice"!

This is a world of lies and loss of all dignity. The UN is losing its role and every so called big country is giving-in for the idiots in the White House and the Criminals in Israel to rule the world with the arrogance of power and complete lack of leadership.

After this, it will be only a joke when someone from the west says "Why do muslims hate us"? This development is very destructive to all the efforts and visions for reform that are developed and pursued by Arab and Muslim political groups and intellectuals seeking a democratic Middle East based on the values of reform, political diversity and modernization.

My only wish is that out of this turmoil a new and effective world governance system will be born ithat will isolate the neo-conUS administration and Israeli power arrogance. I am afraid I am dreaming, though!
