My Nine Personalities

A few people in this world are schizophrenic, having two split personalities that keep rotating with the same psychology of the person. In a similar situation, I admit to having nine personalities that alternate during the 24 hours of one day, with every passing day.

Here is a profile about my nine personalities:

8:00 a.m- 3:00 pm: Environmentalist: This is my profession. I have a Master's Degree in environmental science so I work as an environmentalist in my basic profession. Currently I am a Project coordinator stationed in the Ministry of Environment in Jordan working on a project to assess and document the obligations and opportunities in the global environmnetal agreements that Jordan signed since 1992 with special focus on agreements on Desertification, Climate Change and Biodiversity. This project is supported by the United Nations Development programme and the Global Environmental Facility. It is basically a policy planning project, I had more exciting tasks in my previous work.

3:30-4:00 Carnivore: The time of eating. Basic instincts, from apes to humans.

4:00-5:00 Sleeper: Another instinct to recharge my batteries.

5:00-7:00 Father: one of my most enjoyable personalities. I have to keep aside two hours daily to play with my little daughter (6 years) and spend some quality time in education, going-together, cahtting etc. I love my kid and would never trade this time for another task.

7:00-8:00 Husband: A crucial time for my [sychological stability. I need to spend time with my wife. Drinking coffee at the sun-set and discussing events in our life and coordinating future issues and sharing ideas, happy stories, worrying trends and decisions.

8:00-9:00 House Manager: This is the time for shopping, bringing home all needed stuff and maybe some short social visits and dinner.

9:00-10:00: Writer: Time for writing my daily article for addustour newspaper. It takes around one hour to identify the idea, do some background research and write the words. The article is in a draft form and can be changed next day upon new events and then sent for publishing.

10:00-12:00 Free Lance Consultant: To maintain a decent life and meet majoe requirements for health, education and energy, and to bring more intellectual challenges to my life I work as an independent consultant on environmental issues and some studies on democracy, media and politics. Currently I am working to develop a five year strategic plan for one of the prominent NGOs in Jordan. I am also working as a reviewer for the most comprehensive global assessment of environment, called "Global Environmental Outlook 2007". Reviewers work as volunteers but their names will be published on the report. I review the chapter specific to West Asia.

12:00- 1:30 Blogger: Starting January 2006 this has became one of the most challenging, yet enjoyable personalities. I usually read 10-15 blogs, the JP update and then comment on interesting posts. I prepare usually 2 posts per night for my own blog (English and Arabic) and sometimes more. I respond to comments on my blog with an average of 10-15 comments per day.

I have to say this is a hectic and exhausting lifestyle. I find very little time for myself. Watching a nice movie, reading a good book for enjoyment, going to Cinema and theatre, and hanging out with friends and family is a rare event in my life.

I guess I need to change something, and reduce my personalities, but what can I do?

actually you got an extremely interesting productive lifestyle. But you know what, you can simply pick a "holiday" day, a day free of blogging, consulting, writing, enviromentaling, and house managing! and spend it all with your family going to the movies, or to a nice restaurant. I think you owe it to yourself...A little quality time:)

I have similar situation here just replace wife and kids with family; what I do is that I have span of one-two hours of time everyday to try something new and it could be repeated; these one-two hours could be swimming hours, going out with friends; reading so basically it's organized time for random stuff.
